Moorfields appointed Administrators over Agricultural and Plant Hire Business in Devon

Simon Thomas and Shelley Bullman of Moorfields Corporate Recovery LLP have been appointed Joint Administrators over T Vallance & Sons LLP.

The family owned business was placed into administration on 27 September 2012.

T Vallance & Sons provided agricultural contracting, plant hire, haulage and caravan and boat storage services across Devon. The business has been providing services to farmers since 1960.

The LLP’s financial difficulties began in 2011 following the loss of a major contract and the failure of a new sales division.

As a result Moorfields Corporate Recovery were appointed as administrators and following an extensive marketing campaign, the assets of the business are now being sold at auction.  

Simon Thomas, Partner said “Unfortunately the agricultural sector has been hit particularly hard by the economic climate and erratic weather conditions.”
