Property and hospitality experts Milan Vuceljic and Andy Pear of leading restructuring and insolvency firm, Moorfields Advisory Limited, were appointed Joint Administrators and Receivers over The Birch (Selsdon) Hotel located in South Croydon on 17th November 2023.
The Birch (Selsdon) is a contemporary countryside retreat that is less than an hour away from the City of London. The 19th-century mansion turned hotel and members club is set in 200 acres and was once a historic estate and golf course. The now contemporary hotel offers a serene environment for work and leisure and boasts 181 rooms, two restaurants and three bars.
Unfortunately, the hotel ran into difficulty earlier this year due to cash constraints. The Administrators are continuing to trade the hotel whilst they work with wider stakeholders to market the assets for sale.
Milan Vuceljic, Partner at Moorfields, said “The Birch hotel group had a unique market proposition, which fitted with today’s health and wellbeing culture whilst still boasting a greater London location. We are currently continuing to trade the hotel whilst we explore various options, which we believe provides a good opportunity for potential purchasers.”
