North Quay Development, Hayle

Moorfields were appointed as Administrators over the North Quay Development in Hayle, one of the largest regeneration projects in the Southwest.

The 100-acre site, located on Cornwall’s north coast, includes Hayle’s operational harbour and sits within the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site. Planning permission is in place for a major mixed-use scheme comprising residential units, retail, business and leisure floorspace.

Phase 1 of the project delivered two residential buildings, both of which sold out following exceptionally strong demand, highlighting the development’s significance and market appeal.

Objectives

  • Facilitate the continued delivery of the regeneration project in line with existing planning consent.
  • Preserve the operational continuity of Hayle harbour for the boating and fishing community.

  • Provide reassurance to residents, businesses, and stakeholders regarding the future of the site.
  • Protect the heritage and cultural importance of a site located within a UNESCO World Heritage designation.
  • Maintain confidence in the project’s viability following early success in Phase 1 sales.

Moorfields’ Actions

  • Assumed responsibility for overseeing the project’s development phases within planning requirements.
