Care Home Group in Nottinghamshire

Moorfields were appointed as administrators over a group of six companies operating eight residential care homes across the Nottingham area.

The group provided specialist care for adults with mental health issues and learning difficulties, employing over 250 staff and supporting more than 70 service users. The companies had a secured creditor owed in excess of £12 million.

Objectives

  • Take control of all homes and safeguard service users to preserve going concern value
  • Continue trading with the support of specialist care agents
  • Retain and oversee the head office function to facilitate operational payments
  • Complete a sale of the homes within six months of appointment
  • Assume control of company bank accounts, including service user personal funds, and transition to administration accounts
  • Value, recover and dispose of assets not required for ongoing trade
  • Assess the homes against CQC and local authority requirements and address issues cost-effectively
  • Review staffing levels and wage structures, reduce agency staff, and implement changes while maintaining CQC compliance
