Moorfields appointed Agricultural Receivers over Devon cattle farmer

Agricultural Specialists Simon Thomas and Arron Kendall of leading restructuring and insolvency firm, Moorfields Corporate Recovery Ltd, were appointed Joint Agricultural Receivers over beef and livestock trader in Devonshire on 22 December 2014.

The farm which operated from four sites specialised in cattle and sheep production has traded since 1982. In recent years the farm had been involved in supplying Halal meat but suffered a significant bad debt which the business could not survive. 

Simon Thomas, Joint Administrator “We have managed to sell the livestock and will be marketing the remaining assets. Livestock farmers continue to operate in a difficult market, however we are seeing farmers facing difficulty in a number of sectors particularly Dairy which is currently receiving significant press coverage.”
